Miscellaneous Show Details
The Blade tv series on Spike TV will be Spike TV’s first original scripted series. Spike TV first ordered the 2 hour pilot, and has since ordered 11 more episodes.
Production took place in Vancouver this past spring and was produced by New Line Television. David S. Goyer, the screenwriter and producer of the Blade trilogy as well as Batman Begins, is both writer and executive producer for the Blade television series. Popular comic book writer Geoff Johns is also taking on roles as writer and producer.
The series is expected to follow the continuity of the Blade movies, but will introduce new characters and storylines. As such, the only expected returning character from the movies is Blade himself, who’ll be played not be Wesley Snipes, but by Kirk ‘Sticky’ Jones.
There’s been a lot of money thrown at the series, and though promotion has kicked up a few notches, there’s still relatively little information out there about the show. Once I find out about it, I’ll definitely be posting it here, so check back often. If you have any news tips or information, please send them my way either through the comments section or the contact form.
