It’s Quiet… A Little Too Quiet

You’ve probably noticed the lack of news regarding the show. That, coupled with the growing anticipation to hear any information about the future of the series (namely whether or not there will be a second season), is probably killing you. Well, rest assured, it’s killing me too.

I’ve been scouring the internet for any word on whether or not Spike TV will pick up the show for another season, and know that once I find something, I’ll post it here as soon as possible. Likewise, if any of you find anything, please let me know either via the comments or by using the contact form.

My guess is that it will take at least one more episode for Spike TV to be convinced that the show is worth keeping. Goyer, Jackson, Wagner, and many other key cast and crew of the show continue to reach out for our support, so let’s not let them down - keep watching the show!

    1. I do not know if I am the eternal optomist but my guess is the show will be picked up.

      The majority of the reviews prior to the pilot were very lack lustre with no expectations of any success.

      The reviews post the pilot were negative and pessimistic.

      The reviews post Epi 3 and onward on many sites changed to this is a show you must watch and do not want to miss.

      This show is absoultely perfect for Spike and with such a limited array of programming I cannot see how they would not want to get there own fame with this Spike original…………

    2. I too think it would be absurd for Spike TV to not pick up the show for another season… the problem is, networks have a tendency to do absurd things. Spike TV is much like G4 in my opinion. Both are going for a similar demographic, 18-30 males. Both have an incredible amount of overplaid shows with a severe lack of original programming.

      The interesting thing is, G4 is actually moving more away from original shows and is bringing in more reruns of old ones while Spike is slowly adding more original programming (such as The Ultimate Fighter). The problem is that Spike is still mostly unoriginal and may decide to stay with the cheaper choice of replaying old crap rather than supporting an original show that has a huge potential to grow.

      I, for one, am still optimistic. Spike took the chance to back the show for this first season and I’m hoping they are willing to back it for at least one more.

    3. I hope we hear something soon this waiting for the shoe to fall is killing me. Also, you would think they would want to get some orginal shows to showcase to bring more viewership. I also think that should the show return they need to put more promotion behind it. Get the cast on different shows promoting the show. Different benefits for diseases and so forth.

    4. I know a person who works for SpikeTV and he has informed me that it does not look good for a 2nd season.

      I think this show is great personally and so does he, but he believes that if it was on another network, like Sci Fi Channel or HBO, that it would do better.

      Take it for what it is worth, but from an insider, it does not look good.

    5. Interesting Larry. I wonder what the decision would be based on and what there expectations for viewership were.

      I am hoping the insider is the janitor or the midnight security shift!

    6. I have heard various “insider” reports and they all contradict each other. As such, I’m still optimistic for the show. Well, I’d actually probably have to say it’s 50-50 since Goyer, Wagner, Jackson, and others have all come out pleading for people to watch. This means two things; that the show currently doesn’t have the ratings to make it but that it’s likely close.

      I have done my part with not only Feedback but a wonderful fax. Of course tuning in and logging into whatever site requires my logon. I tried to phone a number I found online but that got now where. Yes I have some time on my hands during the day :) .

      You know Squirrel with the upcoming comic… potential crossovers your obvious wit and intelligent writing.. there is some serious potential for this website with an ongoing Blade series. I hope you get your wish.

      For me I just want MORE… I want more story, more action and more Jill.

    12. Does anyone know why www.spiketv.com displays a “blank page”? It comes up as only a black background w/o text, pictures, nada. Viewing source, it looks like everything is JHTML, so I verified I have the latest Java run-time updates. Still nothing.

    13. Hmm… I know they’ve been having some issues with the Blade section of the site, but a blank page for the main section sounds odd. I just tried it and it pulls up fine for me. It actually uses a lot of flash, so make sure you have the latest flash player installed (8 I believe).
