Larry Poindexter and David Kopp Interviews
If you recall, I previously linked to an interview Starry Constellation Magazine had of the actor that will play Blade’s dad during next week’s episode. Well, I got a heads up from Lisa Steinberg over at the magazine saying that there were a couple more interviews that may be of interest to Blade: The Series fans.
The first interview is with David Kopp, the actor that plays Krista’s brother Zack. He talks about the filming process, the chemistry of the cast, as well as some future projects. He doesn’t say whether or not he’ll be appearing more in the series, though my guess is that he’ll show up at least a few more times.
The other interview is with the Larry Poindexter, the man playing the FBI agent Ray Collins. He talks about the Blade series as well as other projects. A bit of warning, he does mention a few little pieces of information that may be considered spoilers for the Blade show. They are minor, dealing with his past, but just in case you’re trying to be completely free of any extra information, be warned.
I’d definitely recommend both interviews for fans of the series. It’s refreshing to see interviews from the more minor characters of the show as they give a different perspective to the story and to their experiences.
Steve Bacic At UK’s Gatecon
I’m a huge fan of the SciFi channel’s Stargate SG-1 and Stargate Atlantis shows. I’m not a big enough fan to fly to the UK for the Gatecon Stargate convention, but I’m a big fan nonetheless. What does that have to do with Blade: The Series? Well other than the fact that they are all awesome television shows, actor Steve Bacic makes appearances in both SciFi/Fantasy universes.
We all know him as Chase’s ex-husband Frederick in Blade: The Series, but he also had the small role of Major Coburn/Camulus on Stargate SG-1. Since he was and still is a part of the Stargate universe, he’ll be appearing at Gatecon, giving fans of his a chance to meet in person, get autographs, and ask him questions.
The convention dates are August 7th - 13th and it’s being held in Cheltenham, England. If you missed it above, the link to the official site is right here. I know there are a lot of fans of his and his character Frederick, so maybe some of you will make the trip and meet him. If you do, shoot me an email via the contact form and let me know how it went!

Cast Member Fan Mail Address
A couple Reader Question posts back, Sebastian wrote in asking where one could send cast member fan mail. Well, unfortunately, I was unable to find that information out, so his question remained unanswered for a little while.
Luckily, Sebastian was determined so he was able to obtain the info via Kirk Jones’ MySpace email. Sebastian was kind enough to write back in and provide the information in case anybody else was interested. Thanks Sebastian!
Below is the information:
(Name of Actor/Actress)
Blade: The Series
C/O Spike TV
ATTN: Debra Fazio
1755 Broadway, 9th Floor
NY, NY 10019
The information does appear to be legitimate. I did some research and Debra Fazio is definitely a contact for Blade: The Series and Spike TV.
Oh and if anybody does write in and gets a response, shoot me an email via the contact form and let me know.

Blade’s Dad Talks About the Show
If you saw the previews for next week’s episode, you’ll know that Blade’s dad will be making an appearance in the form of a flashback. The actor who’ll be playing the Daywalker’s father is Colin Lawrence and he’s done an interview with Starry Constellation Magazine.
From the interview:
Q)What made you want to be a part of the show?A) There is not any man, woman or child that I know that wouldn’t want to be a part of a comic book. You can’t pass that up! Truth be told, my favorite comic book was Teen Titan. That was the one I really loved. I think it’s amazing just being a part of Marvel comics and getting to be a part of a project gone to film that is now being turned in to a TV series. I think, if you can’t play Blade, then you can sure play his daddy! I think that’s great because who wouldn’t want to be the father to a super hero? It’s just a great opportunity and I am happy to be a part of it.
As you can see, he does talk about the show, though be warned that some of what he says could be considered spoilers (though nothing is really given away other than what he will be doing in the episode). Fans of his or of the show should head on over and read the full interview.

Reader Question: Is Steppin’ Razor a Worthy Adversary?
Yesterday I received a great question from “Scythe” that’s an opinion question. As such, I figured it’d be great to post it here and get everybody’s take on it. His question is about Steppin’ Razor and you can read it below:
Scythe writes:
I’m curious as to what you think of the character Steppin’ Razor (Bokeem Woodbine) and his relationship with Blade. Do you feel that he’s a worthy rival for the Daywalker? Or does he just not “cut it”? Much thanks, Scythe.
Well, we’ve only seen Steppin’ Razor once so far, back in Episode 5: Bloodlines, but he managed to do a lot with his short time onscreen. He captured Blade, nearly handed him over to Marcus, killed Reverend Carlyle, and gave us the origins of Blade’s tatoos along with a lot of other backstory. He impacted the story quite a bit for only being in part of one episode, but does that make him a worthy adversary?
If the show was just Blade vs Steppin’, I’d have to say it would suck (pardon the pun). I believe Marcus is a much better main villain. However, Steppin’s role is definitely interesting and I do believe he adds a lot to the table that nobody else can.
For starters, he has a whole lot of history with Blade. Nobody else in the show can claim to have been there when Blade was starving as a young half vampire and nobody else in the show can claim to have been turned by Blade. These two things give Steppin’ both great motivation (revenge for being turned) and unique insight (knowing a lot about Blade’s past). As such, he’s a villain with a different perspective on Blade, a perspective that allowed him to fairly easily capture Blade and nearly kill him.
Steppin’ also has something in common with Boone as they are both vampire outcasts. Like Boone, Steppin’ is unwelcome in the vampire Houses and also like Boone, he’s hunted by fellow vampires. As such, Steppin’ has an air of desparation about him, though he hides it well. The similarities between Steppin’ and Blade’s relationship and Boone and Krista’s relationship are interesting and may come up in the future. They each have a problem that they created, problems they will eventually have to deal with.
So, is he worthy? I say yes. His unique ability to provide us with more backstory and his personal vendetta against Blade are both worthy additions to the show. Alone, he wouldn’t be enough of a villain, but alongside the current developments and other factions, his occasional presence is definitely felt and appreciated. I say he’s worthy, but do you? Weigh in on the topic in the comments below.
For those interested, Bokeem Woodbine is the actor that plays Steppin’ Razor.
Episode 7: Delivery
Recap and Review
Does the episode named Delivery actually deliver? Oh hell yeah it does.
With last episode ending with Chase blown up by Blade, last night’s episode lets us know right away how poor ‘ol chase is doing. And she ain’t doing well. Vampires might be able to heal themselves, but after a building sized explosion, it takes more than a few minutes of yoga to return to ones self. As such, Marcus immediately sets Chase up with multiple blood transfusions during a process that will take more than this one episode to fully heal her.
With Chase out of commission, Marcus sends Krista after Blade and Vanessa (the pregnant woman). Unfortunately for Krista, the mission comes at the worst of times as she learns her mother is sick with leukemia. Likely knowing the consequences of disobeying Marcus’ orders, she only pays her mom a brief visit in the hospital before heading off to Paris to find Blade.
Before Krista shows up, Blade deals with a handful of sporadic vampire encounters, though they’re nothing he can’t handle. He also deals with a few dream sequences of his mother being pregnant with him. She warns him of Vanessa and her pregnancy, though Blade tries to shake it off. To determine exactly what he’s dealing with, Blade takes Vanessa to a doctor who finds out the woman isn’t carrying a human or vampire, but rather, a bunch of liquid. Just as they are about to do some further testing, Krista and a vampire hit squad show up. Luckily for our hero, Krista offs them in the car before they even show their fangs.

Food TV and Me Site Launched
Alright, so I know it’s not really Blade related, but I’ve just launched a new site in my Squirrelinabox Network called Food TV and Me. It’s at least somewhat related since it deals with television shows, but that’s pretty much the only connection.
My sister is actually the author of the new site, I just set it up and designed it as well as taught her a few things, but the content is all hers. If you like to watch the Food Network and do some home cooking once in awhile, head on over and check out the new site.
