For Whom the Bell Tolls

The results are in for the latest poll and after 183 votes were cast it appears that many of you are thinking Charlotte may just not make it through these next two episodes.

Which Character is Most Likely to Die?
Charlotte: 36% (65)
Boone: 19% (35)
Chase: 17% (31)
Marcus: 9% (17)
Shen: 5% (9)
Krista: 4% (8)
Nobody: 4% (7)
Blade: 3% (5)
Collins: 3% (5)
Frederick: 1% (1)
Total: 183

As you can see, 65 people (36%) are anticipating an early exit for the evil Chthon Pure Blood. Chase and Boone boht had strong showings with 17% and 19% of the votes respectively. Surprisingly many voted for the main characters with Blade, Krista, and Marcus receiving a combined 30 votes or 16%. I'm not sure if many of those votes were jokes or genuine as I highly doubt any of those three won't make it to the next season. However, there are many cases in TV history where major characters are killed off either permanently or at least temporarily, so seeing Blade killed only to somehow fight his way out of hell to rejoin us may not be too far fetched (though it would be a complete rip off of a certain other vampire show).

Anyway, as for my thoughts, I personally think none of the characters listed above will die. I don't see one of the three main characters dying, nor do I see Boone or Frederick being killed off since they haven't been in an episode for awhile. That leaves Shen, Chase, Charlotte, and Collins. Collins is just starting to be built up, so I don't see him being killed before he has at leasta few episodes with Blade and company under his belt. If Shen died, that'd leave Blade all alone (with Krista not necessarilly on his side and definitely not always around), so I don't see him dead.

This leaves us with the two evil female vampires and of the two I'd say Charlotte would bite the big one. Chase is still too major a character to die off (and she is one of the five main characters listed on the main site). She is that other side of Krista that we love to see and the mystery behind her true intentions is both intriguing and entertaining. A big reason why I could maybe see Charlotte die is that she knows of Marcus' plans. How can the show function with her having that knowledge? The second she tells anybody Marcus is ash. But then again, she did help him with many of his plans, so perhaps she can't get any outside help. Her character is too perfect to be left for just part of season one, and I think the writers know that, so I'm still betting on her making it back next season.

So, there you have it - my vote is that all our characters will survive these last two twisty episodes. Of course, that doesn't mean Charlotte's man-giant Thorne or any other supporting characters will make it.

Thanks to all who voted in the poll. I'll be posting a new one sometime Thursday so be sure to keep an eye out for it! And as always, feel free to post your thoughts in the comments below.

Interesting analysis Squirrel. I agree with the logic behind your premise that the main cast will survive "Inevitably" but the question was who would be killed - not necessarily who would be killed never to return. My vote was for Krista.... I am suspecting that indeed we will see a main character be killed or seemingly killed and then revived someway somehow in Season 2 and if I was to bet which main character would cause the most intrigue and a seemingly good target to resurrect my bet was Krista. Having said that the rational side agrees with you and we may not see anyone of the main characters pass away. Great Poll! 26 and 1/2 hours until show time!

Looking forward to the next poll for this one was definitely interesting. I also voted for Charlotte. She knows too muchand because Marcus won't risk that that anyone else gets to know about his real plans he has to silence her in whatever way. But it would also be likely (IMO) that one of the main characters'll die. The end of a season is always the perfect time to do this.

SUPRISE!! I definately did not think Charlotte would leave so quickly. She obviously did a great job with her interview that I so wrongly deduced. I knew she would not die from the plane crash therefore I thought she would definately show up in the finale. I expected Thorn to get ashed as pretty much any vampire that we see toiling with Blade (as per the previews) is sure to meet a firey demise. (Hint Hint.. Marcus??) OH well. I still think there is hope for my prediction regarding Krista ;). Again it will come in the form of the fan base *thinking* she is dead but most likely, actually quite confidently should we be blessed with a season 2 she will be back. Timely Poll. Cheers! P.S. Did I mention I CANNOT wait for the finale!!!

From the looks of the preview, there's a Chthon Pure Blood or two that seemed to be semi-well known actors (by semi-well known I mean that I think I've seen them in stuff before). Perhaps they will take Charlotte's place and become Marcus' vampire rivals. That is, of course, as long as Marcus lives. At this point who knows! You also never know if they'll somehow bring Charlotte back from the dead or something. This is a mystical world with vampires and weird rituals so there's a chance she has a way back.. though I personally think she's gone for good. As for Krista being killed and then reborn somehow, my guess is still no. If anybody is to die this last episode I'd go with Chase or Shen (I say Shen only from the looks of the preview... though he'll probably pull through just fine).

  5. Jeff Thomas Said:

Noooooo Not Chase ;). While every part of me wants to beleive Chase is in for the long haul..... well one just never knows. I would not be suprised if everyone survives but not without some serious battle wounds. Again... Cannot wait!
