Poll Results: More Houses Please
After extending the latest poll an extra week, the votes are now in and the poll is closed.
What Subplot Would You Like to See More Of?
Other Vampire Houses: 36% (43)
House of Leichen: 22% (27)
Other Blade Allies: 17% (21)
Ashers: 11% (13)
House of Armaya: 8% (10)
Boone: 6% (7)
Total Votes : 121
It appears as though most of you are interested in learning more about other vampire houses in the Blade universe. We know of Chthon, Erebus, Leichen, and Armaya, which leaves quite a few left as a mystery. I think it’s that unknown factor that pulled in the most of the votes. We know with Leichen’s odd non violent nature that some houses definitely have different views on vampirism, which means there are a seemingly endless amount of possibilities for other houses.
Speaking of the House of Leichen, it pulled in a strong 22% of the votes to capture 2nd in the poll. I was pretty surprised to see it receive so many votes, though I too am definitely interested in learning more about Frederick and the other Leichen vampires. The House of Armaya clearly fell behind in popularity as it only received 8%, which may have to do with it getting more exposure than the other houses (save for Chthon of course).
I was actually torn between the Ashers and other Blade allies when I was casting my vote. On the one hand, it’d be great to learn about how the whole underground vampire hunting movement works and how they may or may not work with Blade. On the other hand, I remember how fond I was of the Asher plotline when it was first introduced. I was actually very disappointed that they never came back to it during later episodes (though I can definitely understand why since there was already so much going on). As such, I voted for the Ashers, since I do think they could introduce much more to the story than adding even more Blade allies.
Not surprisingly, Boone wound up last. He had a pretty large part to play in the show, but his part always seemed to be a little out of place. It seems like a lot of fans didn’t really connect with him either.
Thanks to everyone that voted and be sure to look out for the new poll this Thursday.

ummm… so new line has abandoned the show. we will not be getting a second season no matter what. this info comes from an e-mail from neil jackson in which he said that the show was axed and he’s not even sure if there will be a story line wrap up. too bad:( the show was real good. maybe by some miracle, the uk ratings will be through- the -roof AMAZING and they will give it a second go. that seems remote however. i’ve been trying to get viewers for the show on forums i’m affiliated with, and i’m just shocked at the negative response i got. I GUESS many people DONT like the show and we are truly in the minority. i do hope squirrel, you keep updating at least what new projects you hear that the cast is working on. it is a shame how this turned out. for the record, I BLAME SPIKE. had they given it a second try we could be looking at 7 seasons instead of dying after one.
it’s been fun guys!

Hey Courtney,
Yes indeed the future of a season 2 seems bleak and If I had to place blame it would be a combination of Spike TV (lack of audience - UFC lead in) and the mediocre Pilot.
Oh well. The DVD is confirmed and at least we will receive that and we can hope there is some additional content and maybe an alternate ending.
While I as well hope the UK viewing audience comes in droves and the DVD sales are off the chart I still suspect season 2 will remain in never never land especially for a 2007 run.
Cheers!

Well Jeff,
i think i’ll pop over to the bravo uk website and promote the show over there since they have forums. i’ll keep doing what i can, even though i agree, prospects are bleak.

Clarification, please on this point… New Line has given up trying to get the show on another network in the U.S. as well? New Line still has the materials on their page.

Good morning Wile E,
There is no “official” word or “any” word from Newline. We have only heard from DSG and Neil Jackson and Jill Wagner through their “MY space” accounts and obviously Spike.
New Line has remained silent. They would be the final straw should they comment to the negative but at present for all we know they may be still shopping the series. You would think however that DSG would have the inside scoop and therefore his words, through myspace, speak quite loudly.
Regards!

Like others have said, there’s still nothing official about a cancellation of the effort to keep the show alive. What is official is that the show was cancelled.
Things definitely do look bleak, but shows have risen from the dead before - a recent example being Family Guy.

Yeah, I went to DSG’s MySpace page and saw the comment he posted. Well, optimism never hurt anyone. We can celebrate the work that was done, and look forward to future projects that the talented cast and DSG will be doing.
Think… positive… thoughts.
