Blade: House of Chthon DVD Release Information
The big question has finally been answered. September 18, 2007 is the day the Blade television series will be released in DVD form as Blade: House of Chthon.
The DVD will feature unbefore seen footage, commentary, and a making of featurette. Unfortunately this DVD is only the pilot of the show (the first two episodes), but hopefully this means the remaining episodoes will come out later this year. For those unable to wait until the full season is released, hopefully this starter will do for now.

Oh wow this sucks.
I want to buy the series box set not the pilot episode.
Guess another year will go by. . . hopefully sooner.

I think this is their way of testing the waters to see if people are interested in Blade: the series. The sales of thei DVD will probably dictate wether or not we get a full series boxed set.

I hate it when they only put out the pilot on dvd. It’s just another way to make a few extra bucks. I will patiently wait for the full dvd set, which I am sure will have the pilot episodes and extras that this dvd has.

I’ll hold out and wait for the whole series. I do want to see the extra footage and interviews, but not at a price that’s nearly what you’d normally pay for a short run series like this.

They cancelled the show, and there has been no work on any further episodes.

The pilot DVD is interesting. The special features run over an hour and the pilot looks better than the televised version.
A good buy for all Blade fans, I’d say. The series box set will be better, though.

I bought the pilot series for a few reasons:
1) I wanted to see it again, uncut…
2) I wanted to show my support
The way I see it, DVD sales can bring a series back to life. It happened with Family Guy and another network picked it up. Maybe the same will happen here.
If it doesn’t, I’ll just buy the full series when it’s released.
Later
