Falling Skies Fansite Launches

For those of you looking for a new show to follow you may want to check out TNT's new drama Falling Skies that will first air in June. I've just launched a fansite for it similar to this one where I'll be covering news, rumors, doing episode reviews, and more. If you're looking for reasons why to get excited for the show you can check out my article on the 5 reasons I'm excited for Falling Skies and see if any of those can help you decide whether or not the show interests you enough to tune in.

Let's hope Falling Skies isn't cursed like Blade was. It'd definitely be nice to have a fansite for a show that lasts longer than one season.

Vote for Your Favorite Cancelled TV Show

I've just launched a new website called Blank Fill, where users can complete sentences with their own answers and see how they compare with the rest of the world. So what does that have to do with Blade: The Series? Well, today's topic is all about cancelled televisions shows, asking you which cancelled television show you will miss the most. Seeing as Blade: The Series is likely at the top of many of your lists, why not head on over and enter what cancelled show you will miss the most.

Poll Results: Chthon Recruiters Would be Pleased

The latest poll results are in and the results are just what you'd expect.

Which vampire house would you want to be in?
House of Chthon: 61% (30)
House of Leichen: 22% (11)
House of Armaya: 8% (4)
House of Erebus: 8% (4)
Total Votes : 49

With the House of Chthon being the main focus of the show, I don't think it comes as much of a surprise that most voters chose to join Marcus, Chase, and Krista. I, personally, voted for Leichen House because their mystery and interesting supernatural aspects intrigue me. The fact that they don't feed on humans is a big perk too!

Thanks again to courtney for the poll suggestion and to all who voted!

SIAB GEAR Opens

I've just recently reopened my store and have rebranded it as SIAB GEAR. You can check out the new site here and read up on the full details of the changes as well as the current grand reopening promotion.

I know this is shameless self promotion, but it is relevant to this site because I've added a new section to the store, Television Gear, that has some fun designs for all you TV addicts out there. Currently, there's only three designs, but I've got some more currently in the works so expect to see some more additions in the next few weeks.

Life After Season 1

With the first season of Blade: The Series coming to an end tonight, I just wanted to let you all know there will still be plenty of reasons to check this site out after the finale. Obviously, I'll be posted my episode recap and review like I always do, but even after that there will be many updates and new features added here.

Unfortunately I don't know whether or not the show will be back for a second season (though Kirk Jones did unofficially tell us that it will be in the previously posted interview). If the show does come back for a second season, I'll definitely be keeping this place up-to-date with the latest and greatest news and information regarding the show and all its cast. If the show isn't picked up again, I'll try to maintain this place as long as possible though I'm not sure what my motivation would be at that point.

Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that this place will still have plenty of things to check out once the season is over. Not only that, I do have a few other projects that are related to television that you may be interested in and I'll post a few updates on those here in a week or two.

Let's all keep hoping the show gets picked up for another season, and let's all make sure we grab whoever we can to watch tonight's finale so that we can bump those ratings up as high as possible!

Web Server Issues

I just wanted to give you all a heads up that there are some web server issues going on with my web host right now. You may have experienced some of those problems earlier today when the site went down momentarily. My host is working to resolve these issues and I believe they have scheduled some maintenance tonight at 10:00 PM PST. Yeah, the same time Blade airs... great. I doubt their work will affect the site for more than an hour (likely it won't affect it more than a few minutes), so it shouldn't delay my episode recap... hopefully.

It's Quiet... A Little Too Quiet

You've probably noticed the lack of news regarding the show. That, coupled with the growing anticipation to hear any information about the future of the series (namely whether or not there will be a second season), is probably killing you. Well, rest assured, it's killing me too.

I've been scouring the internet for any word on whether or not Spike TV will pick up the show for another season, and know that once I find something, I'll post it here as soon as possible. Likewise, if any of you find anything, please let me know either via the comments or by using the contact form.

My guess is that it will take at least one more episode for Spike TV to be convinced that the show is worth keeping. Goyer, Jackson, Wagner, and many other key cast and crew of the show continue to reach out for our support, so let's not let them down - keep watching the show!

Squirrelinabox Network Updates

In case you hadn't noticed, this site is part of my network of sites called the Squirrelinabox Network. I post news and updates about my sites from time to time as well as giving some inside information on some future projects that I'm working on.

Anyway, you may be wondering what this all has to do with this particular site. Well, I've just posted a little update on my network site that just so happens to talk about this site. The main thing I mention is that this place had just over 1400 visitors last Thursday, a site record for me. I hope this increase means more and more people are watching the show, and as such, mean the ratings are improving enough to force a second season of Blade: The Series.

I just wanted to point that out and hopefully get people excited that there seems to still be a growing interest in the show. I know we're all hoping for a second season, and it looks like the number of people wanting that are growing each day.

Recent Comments Added To Sidebar

With the incredible participation from all you readers out there, I've added a feature to the sidebar that displays links to the five latest comments. This new section can be seen below the "Recent Posts" section. I'll probably be tweaking how it works over the next couple days or so, but so far I'm really excited about it.

Hopefully having links to the latest comments will help people find new comments that have been made on old posts... keeping discussions alive long after the original posting of the topic.

Some Comments Recovered From Spam

I've just "unspammed" a few comments that the installed anti-spam software flagged as spam. I believe there were about 3 or 4 comments that were accidentally placed in the spam folder, so I've recovered them and they should now appear on the site.

Since this site is set up as a blog with comments allowed under each post, there's often a massive amount of automated spam comments that are submitted. I've installed an anti-spam plugin on the site that catches just about all of them. Unfortunately, it does, rarely, create a few "false positives", flagging legitimate comments as spam. I try to keep on top of this, but since I usually get hundreds of spam comments throughout the week, I sometimes miss a few.

So, if you ever submit a comment and don't see it appear, just send me an email via the contact form and let me know so that I can mark it as ok. I wish it could work differently, but those few bad eggs out there running spam programs ruin it for everybody.
