New Poll: Who Was the Better Blade?
Fan Darcy wrote in saying that I should put up a poll asking which actor was the better Blade, Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones or Wesley Snipes. When I first read the email I was all ready to reply back saying that I had already done that poll, but stupid me, I hadn’t! I was actually thinking of this poll that asked how good Jones was as Blade. It wasn’t a direct comparisson to Snipes.
So, with that being said, I’ve put up the poll asking you to decide who you think is/was the better Blade. Thanks to Darcy for writing in. I still can’t believe I hadn’t put this poll up yet!
Poll Results: 1 2 3. In That Order
That latest poll has come to a close and with 65 total votes, it’s clear that there’s still quite a few fans out there hoping for some good news. Anyway, on to the results…
Favorite Blade Movie
Blade 1: 46% (30)
Blade 2: 34% (22)
Blade 3: Trinity: 20% (13)
Total Votes : 65
I don’t think it’s too big of a shock that the results ended up with the first movie taking the most votes, followed by the second movie, with the third movie trailing them both. I do think it’s a bit of a surprise that the third movie got as many votes as it did. While I enjoyed Blade: Trinity quite a bit, I think it was mostly ignored and/or disliked by the majority of people out there. It’s definitely nice to see that a good percentage did, in fact, enjoy it.
As for my vote, I gave it to the first movie. Like I said in the original poll post, I had just finished rewatching the Blade Trilogy a couple weeks ago, which is why I wanted to do this poll. While I definitely liked all three movies, I do think I enjoyed the first the most. I’d rank them just how the voters ranked them, with the first movie being the best, then the second, then the third. I just think that the openning scene in the first movie, along with the main plot, combined with my opinion that Frost was the best villain are all major points that make the first movie the best in my mind. I liked the idea of having some vampires help Blade out in the second (as well as the female vampire love interest) and I liked how they brought in the Nightstalkers in the third movie, but overall, the first was just a little bit better.

Wesley Snipes Arrested
The Blade movie star Wesley Snipes was arrested Friday for tax fraud. There has been a warrant for his arrest for awhile now, but he was in Namibia filming a new movie.
The details of his crime are that he has failed to pay nearly $12 million in taxes.

New Poll: Favorite Blade Movie
I just finished watching the trilogy of Blade movies last weekend so I figured I really should put up a poll to see which movie is everybody’s favorite.
The poll will end next Tuesday so be sure to cast your vote by then.
Poll Results: Charlotte Reborn
With 68 people participating in the latest poll, it appears that Charlotte is the character most would like to see alive and kicking (or biting).
Which Character Do You Wish Was Still Alive?
Charlotte: 50% (34)
Collins: 18% (12)
Fritz: 6% (4)
Reverend Carlyle: 6% (4)
Glynnis: 6% (4)
Steppin’ Razor: 4% (3)
Alex: 4% (3)
Thorne: 3% (2)
Damek: 3% (2)
Total Votes : 68
I was expecting Charlotte to receive the most votes, but 50% is much higher than I thought. Collins also brought in quite a few votes, but considering that those two were probably the two with the most air time, it’s really no surprise.
I actually voted for Damek. While I definitely liked many other dead characters more, I felt that with him somehow still alive it would bring in that beast in Marcus that brought the downfall of Chthon. Damek wasn’t really explored much and it’d be interesting to see how he was the only surviving pureblood for the House of Armaya.
I think another reason why I didn’t vote for Charlotte or Collins (even though I loved both characters) is that both were fairly unexpected deaths and those surprises were very cool. Both characters were building in importance and gaining screen time - then BAM! Dead. I think both deaths topped off the incredible season quite nicely.
Thanks to everybody that voted!

David Goyer Talks About the Show
I’m a bit late in posting this, but apparently writer David Goyer posted about the Blade series on his MySpace blog a few days ago. In it he talks about how the show got picked up, reasons for choosing Kirk ‘Sticky Fingaz’ Jones as Blade, as well as a bit on the cancellation of the series.
You can check out the post right here.
New Poll: Which Character Do You Wish Was Still Alive?
During the show we saw many characters die. From minors such as Fritz and Glynnis to majors like Charlotte. Now’s your chance to vote for who you wish were still alive.
- Charlotte
- Thorne
- Collins
- Damek
- Fritz
- Reverend Carlyle
- Steppin’ Razor
- Glynnis
- Alex
Do you go with a pureblood like Charlotte, Damek, or Alex? Maybe you like the underling vampires like Fritz and Thorne? Perhaps the rebel Steppin’ Razor? There’s also the two good guys, reverend Carlyle and detective Collins, to think about.

Poll Results: More Houses Please
After extending the latest poll an extra week, the votes are now in and the poll is closed.
What Subplot Would You Like to See More Of?
Other Vampire Houses: 36% (43)
House of Leichen: 22% (27)
Other Blade Allies: 17% (21)
Ashers: 11% (13)
House of Armaya: 8% (10)
Boone: 6% (7)
Total Votes : 121
It appears as though most of you are interested in learning more about other vampire houses in the Blade universe. We know of Chthon, Erebus, Leichen, and Armaya, which leaves quite a few left as a mystery. I think it’s that unknown factor that pulled in the most of the votes. We know with Leichen’s odd non violent nature that some houses definitely have different views on vampirism, which means there are a seemingly endless amount of possibilities for other houses.
Speaking of the House of Leichen, it pulled in a strong 22% of the votes to capture 2nd in the poll. I was pretty surprised to see it receive so many votes, though I too am definitely interested in learning more about Frederick and the other Leichen vampires. The House of Armaya clearly fell behind in popularity as it only received 8%, which may have to do with it getting more exposure than the other houses (save for Chthon of course).
I was actually torn between the Ashers and other Blade allies when I was casting my vote. On the one hand, it’d be great to learn about how the whole underground vampire hunting movement works and how they may or may not work with Blade. On the other hand, I remember how fond I was of the Asher plotline when it was first introduced. I was actually very disappointed that they never came back to it during later episodes (though I can definitely understand why since there was already so much going on). As such, I voted for the Ashers, since I do think they could introduce much more to the story than adding even more Blade allies.
Not surprisingly, Boone wound up last. He had a pretty large part to play in the show, but his part always seemed to be a little out of place. It seems like a lot of fans didn’t really connect with him either.
Thanks to everyone that voted and be sure to look out for the new poll this Thursday.

Poll Extended One Week
Since this week is Thanksgiving here in the United States I’ve decided to extend the current poll a week to next Tuesday (11/28). With many on vacation and busy (me included) I think it’s just better to let the poll run an extra week rather than perhaps leaving some people out as well as having to put together a new poll this Thursday.
